The Property Management Directory helps owners of rental property find and compare property managers. We are starting in California and adding states one at a time.
What makes us different
- Selective. We started with 10,237 property management listings on Google in California and kept 2,619: active companies that manage rentals for owners, with no closed or duplicate listings, landlords that only rent out their own buildings, vacation-rental-only or out-of-state companies, businesses that don't manage property, HOA-only or commercial-only firms, poorly rated companies (under 2.5 stars) or companies with little sign of recent activity.
- Checked licenses. We match companies against the California Department of Real Estate's public license file. "License Confirmed" means a clear match to an active license.
- Fair rankings. Lists are sorted by Google rating adjusted for how many reviews a company has. No company can pay for its position; any future featured spot will be clearly labelled.
- Real local data. City pages show Zillow rent trends, Census housing figures and HUD Fair Market Rents, each with its source and date.
Where our information comes from
Business listings and ratings: Google (via public business data). Licenses: California Department of Real Estate. Rent: Zillow Observed Rent Index. Housing: U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey. Fair Market Rents: U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Company descriptions are written by our team from each company's listing and website.
